Powerlifting Federation Rules

American Powerlifting Federation Illinois Records	Ernie Frantz founded the APF in Aurora, IL, just 40 miles west of Chicago and has run meets in the Chicago-area for over 20 years. The APF also offers a drug tested venue with the Amateur American Powerlifting Federation or AAPF. USA Powerlifting Illinois Records	The USAPL offers drug tested meets in Chicago and all around the country. They also offer the affliation with the pretigious International Powerlifting Federation, the biggest interational powerlifting federation. American Powerlifting Association Illinois Records	The APA was started by Scott Taylor and has run a number of meets in the Chicago-area over the years, offering nontested and tested divisons. For information, you can contact Roger Ryan, the Illinois State Chairman, at roscoeryan@insightbb.com. Natural Athlete Strength Association Illinois Records	NASA, started by Rich Peters, runs drug tested meets in the Chicago-area, in Illinois, and around the country. They run the traditional powerlifting and bench press meets as well as their own unique "power sports" division. For information on Chicago NASA meets, contact the Illinois State Chairman David Oyler at (847) 828-8964 or at david.oyler@comcast.net. World Association of Benchers and Deadlifters Illinois Records	The WABDL runs single event bench and deadlift contests, contact WABDL President Gus Rethwisch or the Illinois Co-Chairpersons Erica Haislar at (618) 350-5402 and John Hudson at (217) 377-4640 or (217) 359-7752. United States Powerlifting Federation	The USPF has a long history of running powerlifing meets, being the first powerlifting federation when they separated from the AAU. For information on the USPF in Chicago, you can contact the USPF Region 4 Chairman Dan Lass. Check out the USPF Message Board for questions and other information.
Bench America	While not a federation, BenchAmerica has had successful invitation-only bench press meets both at the National and World levels. The meets are professional (paid) meets and have been televised on Fox Sports Net.
Son Light Power Illinois Records	Darryl Latch runs powerlifting meets in Illinois and all around the midwest for his SLP federation. He runs a number of meets at State Fairs and in areas that do not otherwise have powerlifting meets.
American Powerlifting Committee United Amateur Powerlifting Committee	The APC runs non-tested contests and the UAPC runs tested contests. Their international arms are the Global Powerlifting Committee and the Amateur World Powerlifting Committee. The APC/UAPC IL State Chair is James Rouse, you can contact him at (815) 347-4393 or at jsrouse41@aol.com.
American Drug-Free Powerliftting Federation	The ADFPF was formed to join the world body of the World Drug-Free Powerlifting Federation, which was left without a US affiliate when the ADFPA became USAPL and joined the IPF. Contact Judy Gedney for details on this new organization at gedney@macomb.com.
100% Raw Powerlifting Federation	100% Raw is a recently formed powerlifting federation which focuses on drug tested unequiped bench press and powerlifting competitions. The Illinois State Chair is Kevin Beverage, whom you can reach at IL@rawpowerlifting.com. You can also direct your questions to their online message board for Illinois.

These other federations do not run meets in Illinois or Chicago to my knowlege, but check out them out as well as they run quality contests as well.

World Powerlifting Organization	Kieran Kidder runs professional (paid) powerlifing events in the WPO. The WPO is the professsional end of the APF/WPC, and you can contact Kieran Kidder for more infomation.
Amateur Athletic Union Powerlifting	Powerlifting started in the AAU but had to leave the AAU in 1981 as a result of the Amateur Sports Act of 1978. Powerlifting was restarted in the AAU in 1995. The AAU would like to run meets in Chicago and Illinois, if you are interested, please contact Bill Deporter, AAU Powerlifting National Chairman, at william.deporter@baesystems.com.
Interational Powerlifting Assocation	The IPA offers Professional (nontested), and Amateur (drug tested) contests. For more information on the IPA, contact Mark Chaillet, IPA President and National Chairman.
World Natural Powerlifting Federation	The WNPF runs drug tested powerlifting meets. They also run power curl events and occassional strongman events. They are associated with the World Drug-Free Powerlifting Federation (WDFPF) on the international level as well.
Anti Drug Athletes United	The ADAU runs drug tested unequiped meets and is run by Allan Siegal.
