Ernie Frantz, our coach and mentor, ran the IL State Meet this year with Amy Jackson at his gym, Frantz Gym. It was the largest State Meet in the history of APF Illinois, going back to the mid-80s when Ernie started the APF, having almost 120 lifters. The Frantz Power Team came out in full force for this meet, carrying 20+ lifters, with 20 lifters placing. The team had some great performances on both days of the meet. And when they weren't competing, they were helping run the meet. Most of the team competed one of the days, and helped out the other day, judging, taking attempts, or doing whatever needed to be done. It was a team effort all around for this meet. And, despite some great lifting and tough competition from the Illini Powerlifting Team and Rudy's Powerlifting Team, the Frantz Power Team walked away with the 1st Place Team Trophy.
