2005 Windy City IRONMAN


First, for some of those big benches!




Rob Luyando just about to lock out a BIG 689 pound bench at 242.  Notice his coach, World Champion Bench Presser Bill Carpenter, yelling at him to "lock it out!"  WPC Official Bob Kelly is in the background, almost ready to give the "Rack!" signal.  Rob got the best APF *and* AAPF Bencher in the meet with this mighty lift.




Frantz Power Team member Sidney Thoms locks out a big 308 pound bench at 50+ years old!  Sidney got the Best Female Bench in the meet with this big press.

Also, check out the slideshow movie of Sidney's bench, which was dedicated to her neice, Kelly Swayman, who is battling breast cancer.




A very close call with Andrew Kim's second attempt.  Spotters Ernest Roberts, and Mike Morrow catch the weight with Eric Stone and Andrew's Illini teammate Yuri.  Jackie Ebben was ready to take attempts in the background, but looked pretty concerned.
