And now onto some of the big deadlifts of the day.  Remember, "the meet don't start till the bar hits the floor!"




Illini Coach John Hudson locks out a 711 pound pull.  That big pull earned John the Best APF Deadlift as well as the overall Best IRONMAN of the day.  John and Team Illini raised money on this day for those victims of the tsumani in Asia.




Ernie Lilliebridge, Sr. hauls up the biggest pull of the day with 716 pounds.  Ernie does a neat trick when he lifts, being able to turn his head purple!




Like father like son!  Ernie, Jr. also has a big pull, with 534 at 181 as a teenager.




The scorer's table hard at work!  From left to right, Sharra Powell, Tywnia Brewton, and Maris Sternberg run the table to perfection.  Sharra takes attempts through the walkie-talkie from Jackie, while Tywnia helps arrange the attempt cards.  APF Illinois State Chairman Maris Sternberg MCed the meet, actively engaging the crowd.
