General-how old you are, what you do, where you live, where you grew up and anything else general you'd like to add about your life outside powerlifting:

I'm 18, a student of biology, hoping to get a BS and attend NUHS for chiropractic. Other than that I'm you're average 18 year old. Just stronger, smarter and better looking.

Your best lifts in powerlifting in competition and training, and at what weight:

 Not 3000 yet

Your proudest accomplishments in powerlifting:

I haven't been doing it long enough to have made anything too great.

Your best moment in powerlifting:

Just getting stronger and getting the oppurtunity to lift with the Frantz Team and get coached by Ernie Frantz.

Your ultimate goal in powerlifting:

I want to be the biggest, strongest, fastest and sexiest.

How you got involved in powerlifting:

I was foolin' around with weights for maybe a year. Then I got real sick for awhile, then lost the tiny gains i had made. I got involved with forums over at www.ruggedmag.com and there were alot of cool people over there. The overwhelming majority of which are powerlifters. Alot of the Diablo folks post on there as well. I was exposed to the whole concept of powerlifting through them and then Westside. (Try wearing a Westside Barbell t-shirt in Frantz Gym, not pretty, I know) Anyway I did about 3 months on some Bill Star program a guy named Jay Floyd posted over on rugged and made great gains. I decided I wanted to get into the sport and this guy Jared suggested Frantz briefs. I checked out the site, saw the 630 area code and was like "Holy shit, thats my area code" saw the address and realized they were like 10 minutes away from me. I Emailed Stone a couple of times asking if i could come down and train with them, worked up the balls to show up and now im there every Monday, Wednesday and Saturday bustin' my balls.

Type of training you adhear to:

Some variation of the 3 lifts 3 times a week, maxing out on all lifts on saturday (if its a good day, at the least I'll max out on bench and squat. Deadlift if I don't feel like my hips are going to explode.

Type of gear you use and how you use it in your training:

I wear briefs whenever I squat wide or pull wide. The briefs are great, without them I wouldn't be doing this. Wide stance squatting and sumo pulling is too rough on my hips.

Any olympic squatting i do or conventional pulling is done with only a belt.

The people who have most influenced your training and powerlifting career in general:

The people over at the ruggedmag forums who got me into the whole idea. I guess Dave Tate and his company www.elitefts.com for doing such a great job of exposing the sport of powerlifting. Eric Stone for giving me the intiial invitation to come down and lift with the Frantz Team. Maris Sternberg becauase she spent tons of time with me in the basement coaching me when I first got there for the first few months. And of course Ernie Frantz for continually coaching me and working with me to help make me a better and stronger athlete. Ernie Frantz is the man.

Your training partners and how they affect your training:

The guys my age provide the motivation and competition i need to keep me motivated and to keep me from slacking. The guys stronger and older then me for the occasional advice they may throw my way and just being around them makes me stronger and see whats possible. And of course Ernie for being such a great guy and helping and coaching everyone for no cost at all.

How long you see yourself continuing powerlifting:

I want to do this as long as i can. I also want to get involved in strongman. I'll probably start this summer, the Illinois head of NASS and his guys train on saturdays somewhere in Kankee. They said it was cool if i stopped by and trained with the stones and stuff. So I may switch off where i am every Saturday over the summer.

Your opinion of the supportive equipment used in powerlifting:

It's called powerlifting. Not cheater lifting. But whatever. I think briefs are invaluable for lifters to keep their hips healthy. I think wrist wraps are great to keep someone from breaking their wrist or any other wrist related problems. I think knee wraps are good times to keep someones patella from becoming shrapnel. Belts are great too. I think shirts and suits are kind of silly but thats the sport. When people start to get 200 lbs out of a friggin shirt or 300 lbs out of a suit, I just think it's silly. But I'm going to do it becuase i want to be competitive and uhhhh, I don't want to see Travis putting up bigger numbers then me.

Your opinion of drug testing in the sport:

I think anyone who has done a cycle and competes in a drug free fed is a little bitch. Other than that I don't care. Who knows, maybe some dianabol or winstrol will find it's way into my body later in life. Probably not, but you never know.

Your opinion of the professional movement in powerlifting like the WPO and Mountaineer Cup:

Damn those guys are big. DAMN. Man I feel small. Maybe I will start a cycle.

What you think about the Olympic movement in powerlifting:

Who actually watches the olympics anyway? And who the hell chooses curling as a sport. WTF is that? Man did you see that Misty May chick? She was smokin'. What was the question? Oh yea, uhhhhhhhhh no. I think everyone whining and moaning over the politics of powerlifting is far too entertaining to be ruined by some sort of universal standard or credible judging.

Anything else you would like to add:

Whats up with this hardcore attitude among powerlifters? Bald, goatee, tribal tattoos, pitbulls, high body fat, heavy metal, acting like anyone who isn't into powerlifting is a punk. C'mon, it's like they build these guys in a factory. The first time I squat over 1000 I'm going to do it in a rainbow clown wig while listening to Sunshine and lollipops.
